Training, Quality Assurance

NATURAL application programming - Standards A set of concepts, naming conventions, Do's & Don'ts, database access methods and performance.

 

NATURAL application programming - Training Performance oriented workshop for NATURAL programmers. Includes the internal workload a specific NATURAL database command produces and compares access methods based on the typical factors (number of records, number of results, execution environment and so on).

 

Applications

NATURAL Code Generator Based on standardized models (like data manipulation or selection lists) referred to in the "base code", the system generates optimized code without much overhead during run-time. In addition, the code generator allows the inclusion of user defined modules to include additional code during generation time (e.g. based on PREDICT data or other external systems). This system is still in use.

 

PREDICT based Documentation System This system generates user specific documentation (e.g. analysis and design, functional analysis, technical descriptions) based on PREDICT data dictionary entries, long descriptions and NATURAL map definitions (end-user readable). Based on the documentation, the coding is an much easier task. Includes the most important formatting commands. Output (selectable topics) is sent to PostScript printers or on files to generate PDF documents. This system is still in use.

NATURAL Job Scheduler Written in NATURAL. This system selects NATURAL batch programs to be executed based on calendars, defined dependencies and sequences as well as one-time executions requested by end-users.
